Actisan-5L

Actisan-5L is a highly effective disinfectant for disinfecting surfaces and areas that come into contact with food and drink, and the raw materials used to produce them. It can be used, for example, in the food industry, the healthcare sector and the livestock sector. The disinfectant combats bacteria, moulds, yeasts, algae and viruses, making it particularly suitable for livestock housing (bacteria) and livestock transport (bacteria and viruses). Actisan-5L is also used to control micro-organisms in the water of therapeutic pools and private swimming pools.

Mode of action

Actisan-5L consists almost entirely of active ingredient. This active ingredient is highly stable and therefore delivers highly predictable and reliable disinfection results. The disinfectant undergoes a chemical reaction (oxidation, effectively a combustion reaction) with micro-organisms. As a result, resistance cannot develop.

Thanks to its tablet form, designed for 5 litres of water, Actisan-5L is very easy and precise to dose. Due to its virtually neutral pH value, Actisan-5L lacks the aggressiveness of, for example, sodium hypochlorite (chlorine bleach). Furthermore, Actisan-5L delivers good disinfection results at both low and high pH levels. Actisan-5L dissolves easily in water (maximum concentration 20% at 15°C).

Actisan combats the following bacteria and viruses in means of transport: classical swine fever virus, Aujeszky’s disease virus, and the foot-and-mouth disease virus (FMD).

Actisan 5L is officially authorised for use in private swimming pools. Dosage: 3 tablets per week per 1,000 litres. One jar is sufficient for a 5,000-litre pool for one season. One tablet is safe; it dissolves quickly due to its compact size (2.7 g per tablet)
