HokoEx (larvicide) may be used to control fly larvae in animal housing and in waste treatment facilities.
Animal housing
Larvicide for the control of fly larvae in manure, bedding, faeces and slurry pits or liquid manure.
HokoEx may be used indoors in animal housing for the following animals in areas where manure and/or other faeces are not compacted:
Dairy cows, beef cattle, veal calves, sows in individual pens, sows in groups, fattening pigs, free-range laying hens, laying hens in enriched battery cages, broiler chickens, turkeys, ducks, geese, rabbits, horses, goats, sheep and mink.
The result is that larval growth is inhibited, whilst the moulting process is interrupted and normal pupation is prevented; a rapid effect should therefore not be expected. Application should be targeted at the treatment of breeding sites. Adult flies are not controlled. During application, the animals do not need to be removed from the barn or pen.
Initial treatment: the first treatment should preferably be carried out in early spring, prior to the fly season.
